Bangladesh has expressed its interest in working with the Netherlands in the field of media and communication. Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon highlighted this during a meeting with Dutch Ambassador to Bangladesh Joris van Bommel at the Secretariat office in Dhaka.

Minister's Remarks

Minister Swapon emphasized the government's efforts to bring about qualitative changes in its work. He noted the emergence of new challenges in the current information technology world, including those posed by new media, artificial intelligence, and the digital ecosystem. The minister stressed the state's responsibility to ensure freedom of expression while protecting people from misinformation and disinformation.

Dutch Ambassador's Response

Dutch Ambassador Joris van Bommel congratulated Minister Swapon on assuming his role.
