In a significant crackdown on crime, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 79 people during targeted operations in Tejgaon over the past day. The arrests were part of a series of anti-crime drives aimed at curbing illegal activities in several crime-prone areas under the jurisdiction of six police stations in the division.
Authorities reported that 19 individuals were apprehended in Mohammadpur, while 17 were caught in Adabor. In Tejgaon and Hatirjheel, 14 arrests were made each, and another 10 were detained in the Tejgaon Industrial Area. Five individuals were also arrested in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar. Each arrest was the result of meticulous surveillance and routine operations.
The arrested individuals were subsequently brought before the relevant courts to face charges. The operations were conducted with the aim of maintaining law and order in the bustling Tejgaon area, known for its commercial and residential significance.
