In the wake of a severe storm, central and southern Chile are grappling with the aftermath of flooding and wind damage. The storm has claimed the lives of at least two individuals, according to local authorities. The National Service for Disaster Prevention and Response reported that approximately 350 people have been injured or experienced property damage, with over 2,000 people left stranded due to overflowing rivers.

Deputy Interior Minister Maximo Pavez confirmed the fatalities, stating that the victims were killed in Los Rios when a tree fell on their vehicle. The storm has prompted multiple evacuation orders and alerts in various regions, with winds exceeding 100 kilometers per hour (62 miles per hour) recorded in some areas.
