Shabe Barat, a significant Islamic observance, will be celebrated on February 3 across Bangladesh. The decision was made by the national moon-sighting committee after the moon for the holy month of Sha'ban was not sighted on Monday. Consequently, the month of Rajab will conclude on January 20, and Sha'ban will begin on January 21. The Islamic Foundation announced this in a press release following a meeting chaired by the Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Mo. Kamal Uddin.
The national moon-sighting committee reviewed data from all district administrations, the Islamic Foundation's headquarters and regional offices, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, and the Space Research and Remote Sensing Organization (SPARRSO) before making the decision.
