In a recent relief distribution program, State Minister for Land and Chattogram Hill Tracts Affairs, Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, underscored the government's primary responsibilities of serving citizens and safeguarding their fundamental rights. Speaking at the event organized by the NGO 'Pratyashi' in Sarkar Hat, Hathazari upazila, Helal reiterated the government's commitment to inclusive welfare, irrespective of political, religious, or social backgrounds.

The minister highlighted that the current administration has prioritized the welfare of all Bangladeshis, ensuring that public services are accessible to everyone. He emphasized that the government's role is to foster the overall development of citizens without discrimination, aligning with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's directives since taking office.

Helal pointed out that despite years of repression, leaders and activists from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its allied bodies have consistently supported the public during crises, providing essential relief and humanitarian aid. He stressed that the government's political approach is devoid of discrimination, aiming to serve every citizen fairly.

The relief distribution program was part of broader development efforts in Hathazari. The state minister noted significant improvements in the upazila's infrastructure, with over 450 development projects initiated in the past five and a half months, many of which are nearing completion. He specifically mentioned the enhanced road and communication networks, which have alleviated the hardships faced by local residents, especially women.

At the event, Helal distributed relief assistance to members of 'Pratyashi' and flood-affected residents. The program was chaired by Pratyashi Executive Director Monowara Begum, with the presence of Hathazari Upazila Nirbahi Officer Muhammad Abdullah Al Momin, local police officials, political leaders, and other notable attendees.
