National Parliament Honors Tofail Ahmed and Other Deceased Figures with Mourning Session

The 13th National Parliament observed mourning for former ministers, MPs, and victims including Tofail Ahmed and the Pallabi child rape victim.

The 13th National Parliament observed mourning for the deaths of former ministers, MPs, and victims including Tofail Ahmed and the Pallabi child rape victim. Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed raised the mourning proposal, which was subsequently adopted by the Parliament. A minute of silence and prayer were observed in memory of the deceased.

The former ministers, deputy ministers, and MPs mourned include Tofail Ahmed, Mosharraf Hossain, AKM Rahmat Ullah, Dabirul Islam, ABM Anwarul Haque, Moslem Uddin, Shafiq Ahmed, Abdul Matin, Mizanur Rahman Sinha, MA Mannan, Dewan Shamsul Abedin, GM Fazlul Haque, Syed Mo. Kaiser, Abu Nur Mohammad Bahaul Haque, Golam Sarwar Milan, and Mo. Samsuzzoha.

Additionally, the Parliament mourned the deaths of Professor Dilara Hafiz, National Professor Sufia Ahmed, poet Helal Hafiz, Chhayanaut president Sanjida Khatun, renowned musician Mustafa Zaman Abbasi, author Badruddin Umar, Nazrul singer Dalia Naushin, BNP chairperson's former advisor Abdul Kuddus, cultural figure Ataur Rahman, Social Welfare Minister AZM Zahid Hossain's mother Begum Zebunnesa, former general secretary of student organizations Shafiul Bari Babu, Sangharaj Dr. Gyanishvari Mahasthavir, and journalist Ruhul Amin Gazi.
