During an Eid reunion event at Suryamani Union Parishad in Bauphal upazila, Masud made these remarks as the chief guest. The event was chaired by Union Jamaat's Amir Majibur Rahman (Bachchu). The MP's comments have led to discussions and criticism on social media.
In the video, Masud also mentions his relationship with Sheikh Hasina and his background, stating that he does not need to prove himself to the people of Bauphal. He further criticizes the previous government's development efforts, claiming that infrastructure development alone cannot win people's trust without ensuring their rights and freedom of expression.
When contacted by Prothom Alo, Masud clarified that his remarks were in response to false and indecent comments about his deceased father, father-in-law, and wife on social media. He emphasized that he also made positive comments that should be publicized.
