Former Jatiyatabadi Juba Dal President Jakir Hossain Nannu passed away early today due to heart failure at Gulshan United Hospital in Dhaka. He was 58. Nannu is survived by his wife, one son, two daughters, and numerous relatives and well-wishers. His body was taken to Barishal this morning.

BNP Secretary General and LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed deep shock and sorrow at Nannu's sudden demise. In a message of condolence, he extended sympathy to the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.

Jubo Dal President Abdul Monayem Munna and General Secretary Mohammad Nurul Islam Nayan also expressed deep shock and sorrow at Nannu's death. They termed him a courageous and dedicated worker, stating that his loss is an irreparable one for the party.
