Bangladesh National Parliament (BNP) Deputy Speaker Barrister Kayser Kamal today called for increased humanitarian assistance for the helpless and underprivileged people of society. He emphasized the crucial role of private and social initiatives in delivering healthcare to those in need. Speaking as the chief guest at a free eye camp and specialist medical camp organized by the Latif Master Foundation in Bagerhat, he praised the initiative and urged more capable individuals to contribute to such humanitarian efforts.
Importance of Community Involvement
“Healthcare is a fundamental right of a person. To make medical services accessible to the poor and marginalized people, the participation of individuals and social organizations is very important, along with government initiatives,” said Barrister Kayser Kamal. He highlighted the significance of community involvement in ensuring that healthcare reaches all segments of society.
Free Medical Camp
The day-long medical camp provided free specialist treatment, health consultation, and eye examination services to about 1,500 people. Local leaders and officials from the district administration were present during the inauguration. The Latif Master Foundation plans to continue such free medical activities in the future.
Call to Action
Barrister Kayser Kamal urged wealthy and capable people to expand humanitarian activities, stating, “Our commitment should not be to just earn money and buy houses and cars abroad, but to work for the welfare of the people of the country.” He commended the efforts of Latif Master Foundation founder Md. Rafiqul Islam Jaglu.
Why This Matters for Bangladesh
Ensuring accessible healthcare for the underprivileged is critical for societal well-being and equity. Community and private sector involvement can significantly enhance the reach and effectiveness of healthcare services, contributing to a healthier and more inclusive society.
