The Rajshahi regional round of the 21st East-West University Astro-Olympiad 2026 took place at the auditorium of the Arts Building at Rajshahi College. Organized jointly by the Bangladesh Astronomical Association and Rajshahi Astronomy Center, the event aimed to promote astronomy and foster a science-minded generation in Bangladesh. Students from various schools and colleges in the Rajshahi region participated in the competition, which included questions on astronomy, space science, and scientific analysis. The event featured two categories: Junior (14-15 years) and Senior (16-18 years). Twenty participants, ten from each category, were selected to compete at the national level. A certificate and prize distribution ceremony followed the competition. Professor Dr. Mohammad Ashik Mosaddik, Pro-Vice Chancellor of East West University, emphasized the importance of student engagement in science and research during his address as the chief guest. Other distinguished guests included Annaba Kabir Prokriti, Secretary of Rajshahi Astronomy Center, Jasimuddin Arnob, General Secretary of Bangladesh Astronomical Association Dhaka Team, and Md. Hasibul Hasnat Rizvi, Member Secretary of the Regional Organizing Committee of Astro-Olympiad, Rajshahi. Atiqur Rahman Atik, Convener of the Olympiad Organizing Committee, highlighted the goal of creating interest in scientific practice among the new generation.
