The Bangladesh Madrasa Education Board has directed all madrasas across the country to observe 'July Uprising Day 2026' on August 5 with due dignity and appropriate programmes. The directive was issued through a notification of the board, following instructions from the Technical and Madrasa Education Division under the Ministry of Education. The notification asked all madrasas under the board to organise discussion meetings, essay-writing, recitation and drawing competitions to mark the day.

The board instructed heads of institutions and managing committees to arrange the programmes properly and ensure active participation of all students. It also requested Deputy Commissioners (DCs), Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs), District Education Officers and Upazila Secondary Education Officers across the country to facilitate effective implementation and supervision of the programmes at the field level.

The July Uprising Day commemorates the significant events that occurred in Bangladesh's history. The day is marked to honour the sacrifices made and to educate the younger generation about the importance of the uprising.

Madrasas play a crucial role in the education system of Bangladesh, combining religious teachings with general education. This directive ensures that the historical significance of the July Uprising is incorporated into the educational curriculum of these institutions.

The programmes are expected to foster a sense of patriotism and historical awareness among the students, encouraging them to engage in activities that highlight the importance of the day.
