Eight meritorious female university students from insolvent families received the Joyee Scholarship in Rangpur, aiding their educational journey.

Eight female university students from insolvent families were awarded the Joyee Scholarship-2026 in a ceremony held in Rangpur on Friday night. Each student received a cheque of Taka 8,000 as the second installment of the scholarship. The event took place at the '419th Manon Pather Asar' of the literary organization 'Phiredeakha' at Idea Library on Central Road. The scholarship, under the patronage of American expatriate poet and novelist Cynthia Khan, aims to provide opportunities for talented but financially struggling female students. The ceremony was presided over by Tapas Mahmud, a pioneer of 'Phiredeakha', and conducted by Shakil Masud, director of the 'Joyee Scholarship' and a poet and publisher. Notable attendees included Additional DIG of Bangladesh Police and Rangpur Range Reserve Force Commandant Md Abdur Razzaque, writers Rezaul Karim Mukul, Nargis Akhter Banu Jharna, Nikhil Chandra Mahanta, Zakir Sohan, Mossarraf Hossain, Nilratan Sarkar, Mozammel Haque, and Khayali Mostafa.
