BRAC Bank Named Top Choice for Expatriate Remittances in Bangladesh

BRAC Bank has emerged as the preferred choice for expatriates sending remittances, aiming to become Bangladesh's largest remittance bank by 2028. The bank has seen strong growth in remittance inflows over the past five years. In the 2024-25 fiscal year, expatriate Bangladeshis sent a total of 30.33 billion USD in remittances, expected to reach 35 billion USD by the end of the 2025-26 fiscal year. BRAC Bank's success is attributed to its global partnerships, extensive service network, digital innovations, and specialized banking services for expatriates and their families.

Managing Director and CEO Tareq Refat Ullah Khan highlighted that BRAC Bank secured the second position in remittance income among Bangladeshi banks in April 2026, demonstrating expatriates' trust in the bank. The bank is committed to providing safe, transparent, and accessible remittance channels, contributing to the financial security of expatriate families and the country's foreign exchange reserves.

BRAC Bank has expanded its exchange house network in key expatriate corridors across the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Asia-Pacific, USA, UK, Europe, North America, and Africa. Utilizing 'Host to Host' technology, the bank collaborates with over 80 partner exchange houses worldwide, ensuring quick and reliable remittance transfers. In Bangladesh, the bank offers convenient customer service through 310 branches, 1,117 agent banking outlets, and digital platforms like the 'Astha' app.

Additional Managing Director and Head of Wholesale Banking Mo. Shaheen Iqbal emphasized the bank's continuous investment in global networks, service delivery infrastructure, digital platforms, and customer engagement, reflected in its remittance market progress. The bank aims to achieve top position in the remittance market by 2028, confident in its strong customer relationships and ongoing investments.
