A 16-year-old student, Mahidul Islam, was injured during a robbery on a moving train in the Banani area of Dhaka. He is currently receiving treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

According to allegations, the robbers assaulted him, slashed him with a sharp blade, and robbed him of his money and mobile phone before pushing him off the moving train.

The incident occurred around 2 PM on Monday near Banani Railway Station. Mahidul was first taken to Kurmitola General Hospital and later transferred to DMCH in the evening.

Mahidul's sister, Marjia Akter, stated that their home is in Brahmanpara village, Narsingdi Sadar Upazila. Mahidul was traveling by train from their village home to visit his residence in Khilkhet.

Marjia Akter recounted that upon reaching the Banani Railway Station area, three to four robbers assaulted Mahidul inside the train. They slashed his left hand with a sharp blade and robbed him of his mobile phone and five thousand taka. They then pushed him off the moving train.

Afterwards, passersby, including Sohel, rescued Mahidul and took him to the hospital.

Mohammed Faruq, Inspector of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital Police Camp, confirmed that the injured student is under treatment in the hospital's emergency department.
