In response to the tragic bus accident that claimed nine lives on August 7, the government has announced financial aid for the victims. Each family of the deceased will receive Tk five lakh, while the injured will get Tk one lakh. Those who have become disabled due to the accident will receive Tk three lakh.
Details of the Financial Assistance
Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Ariful Haque Chowdhury stated that a prescribed form through the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has been provided to the hospital director for the distribution of these funds. He emphasized that proper treatment for the injured is being ensured.
The minister also announced measures to prevent future accidents, including stricter control of vehicle speeds and monitoring to stop reckless driving and unnecessary competition among drivers.
