In a significant humanitarian gesture, the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) distributed financial aid worth Tk 1.03 crore to 25 families of road accident victims in Rangpur on August 3, 2026. This initiative, part of BRTA's broader rehabilitation and assistance program, underscores the organization's dedication to supporting those affected by road accidents.
Financial Assistance Details
Under the program, each family of a deceased victim received Tk 5 lakh, while each injured victim received Tk 3 lakh. The grant distribution is conducted in phases across various districts and divisions, ensuring that support reaches those in need throughout the country.
The distribution event was held at the Deputy Commissioner's conference room in Rangpur, with Additional District Magistrate Christopher Himel Richil as the chief guest. BRTA Rangpur Assistant Director Engineer Md Shafiqul Alam Sarkar and representatives from the Rangpur District Road Transport Association and the District Bus Owners' Association were also present.
Addressing the gathering, the chief guest emphasized the importance of the BRTA's financial assistance, calling it a crucial humanitarian effort.
