Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Mabud has instructed police members to maintain the utmost professionalism, honesty, patience, and public-friendly behavior while performing their duties. He emphasized that health, discipline, professionalism, and honesty should be the commitment of every police member. The RpMP Chief made these remarks while addressing the monthly welfare meeting of RpMP held at the Rangpur Metropolitan Police Lines Auditorium.
Emphasis on Health and Discipline
Commissioner Mabud highlighted the importance of good health and mental well-being for every police member, stating it is one of the foundations of professional competence. He urged members to lead a healthy lifestyle, undergo regular physical training, follow hygiene rules, and adhere to the dress code properly. Additionally, he stressed the need for an orderly and clean presence among police members.
Strict Measures Against Unethical Activities
The RpMP Commissioner made it clear that there is no scope for direct or indirect involvement in any drug-related activities. He warned that strict action will be taken against anyone involved in such unethical activities as per the law and departmental rules. He also cautioned against the unnecessary use of mobile phones, online gambling, and other unethical digital activities while on duty.
Regarding mental well-being, Commissioner Mabud said that mental support should be provided to colleagues with a sincere and cooperative attitude to maintain a positive environment in the workplace. He also stressed the importance of maintaining personal financial discipline and avoiding borrowing money from each other or engaging in improper financial transactions to keep professional relations and discipline intact.
The meeting saw the presence of Additional Commissioner of Police (Administration and Finance) Naresh Chakma, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime and Ops) Toffael Ahmed, and other senior officers and police members of various units. Officers and members presented their opinions, challenges, and personal and institutional problems during the meeting. The RpMP Commissioner agreed to relaunch the RpMP Police Welfare Fund with the unanimous consent of all police members present.
