Newly appointed Navy Chief Vice Admiral Khondkar Misbah-ul-Azim today paid tribute to the memory of the brave martyrs of the Armed Forces, who laid down their lives in the Great Liberation War in 1971, by placing a wreath at Shikha Anirban in Dhaka Cantonment. After paying tribute, the Navy Chief signed the visit book kept at Shikha Anirban.
Upon his arrival at the Naval Headquarters, Vice Admiral Khondkar Misbah-ul-Azim was received by the Principal Staff Officers of the Naval Headquarters. A well-equipped contingent of the Bangladesh Navy then gave him a guard of honour. He inspected the guard and took the salute, with senior navy officers, including the Principal Staff Officers of the Naval Headquarters, present.
As per the directives of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, the Chief of the Navy is committed to developing the Bangladesh Navy as a strong and modern blue water navy. This includes ensuring the security of the country's vast maritime boundary and blue economy, and consolidating the sovereignty and security of the country's maritime boundary by incorporating modern technology, including modern frigates, submarines, and state-of-the-art sonar and radar systems in the Navy.
