Eight government officials in Narsingdi, including the Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Narsingdi Sadar Upazila, have been served show-cause notices for being absent from their offices during a surprise inspection. The information was disclosed in an office order signed by Narsingdi Deputy Commissioner Israt Jahan Keya.
Surprise Inspection Findings
According to the show-cause notice issued by the Establishment Branch of the Narsingdi Deputy Commissioner's Office, the Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Land conducted a surprise inspection at 9am today. The inspection revealed that the officials were not present at their respective offices.
Misconduct and Government Instructions
The notice stated that their absence was contrary to government instructions and constituted misconduct. Under the circumstances, the officials have been asked to submit written explanations in accordance with the Government Employees (Regular Attendance) Rules, 2019, and the Secretariat Instructions, 2024 for such conduct.
