A tragic road accident claimed the lives of two religious leaders in Chattogram today. Joynal Abedin, the khatib of the Dargahpara Kala Pirshah Jame Mosque, and Zahir Uddin, the mosque's muezzin, were killed when a speeding pickup truck carrying fish struck their motorcycle in Mirsarai upazila. The accident occurred on the old DT road in the Chowdhuryhat area of Zorarganj Union.

The victims, both residents of the Charsharat area under Moghadia Union, were returning home on their motorcycle when they were hit by the fish-laden truck coming from the opposite direction. The collision was severe, leading to their immediate death upon arrival at the Mirsarai Upazila Health Complex.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Zorarganj Police Station Mohammad Abdul Halim reported that the necessary legal procedures, including the post-mortem examination of the deceased, are currently underway. Joynal Abedin, 35, was also a local Olamadal leader, adding to the community's grief over the loss.
