Land Minister Md. Mizanur Rahman Minu has directed officials to take necessary measures for simplifying and expediting land services for expatriate cardholders. The directives were issued during a discussion with Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Ariful Haque Choudhury. State Minister for Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Md. Nurul Hoque and Secretary Md Mokhtar Ahmed were present. The expatriates' welfare minister requested priority services at land offices, facilitation of land development tax payments through expatriate debit cards, and expedited name mutations and other land services.
Minu assured full cooperation from the Ministry of Land to implement these services on a priority basis. He also directed the designation of a focal point within the ministry to facilitate land services for expatriate cardholders. Senior officials from both ministries attended the meeting.
The expatriate card is part of the government's election pledge to ensure social dignity for expatriates and provide them with various services. The simplification of land services is expected to significantly benefit expatriate cardholders by reducing bureaucratic hurdles and speeding up processes.
