Six women suspected of being part of a theft ring were detained at Meherpur General Hospital while attempting to steal cash and a mobile phone from a patient. They were caught red-handed and handed over to Meherpur Sadar Police. The incident occurred in front of a pediatric specialist's chamber.

Hospital authorities reported an increase in theft complaints over the past several days, with patients and their relatives losing cash, mobile phones, and other valuables in various wards and outpatient departments.

Legal Proceedings Underway

Officer-in-Charge Humayun Kabir of Meherpur Sadar Police Station stated that preliminary information indicates the women are residents of different areas in Jamalpur district. Legal proceedings are underway, and the suspects are being questioned to determine if other individuals are involved in the alleged theft ring.
