State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief M Iqbal Hossain has highlighted that large-scale tree plantation is essential for maintaining ecological balance, increasing oxygen supply, and achieving economic prosperity. Speaking as the chief guest at the Mymensingh Divisional Tree Fair, he urged everyone to come forward to produce and plant quality saplings of valuable tree species in a planned manner. The government has set a target to plant 25 crore trees over the next five years. Hossain emphasized that tree plantation benefits the people, the government, and the country as a whole. He called on nursery owners to start producing high-quality saplings immediately to meet this ambitious target. Priority should be given to producing and planting high-value tree saplings, which could provide economic benefits in the future.
