The government has assigned State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit to coordinate rescue operations, relief distribution and rehabilitation activities in response to the recent flood disaster in Chattogram and the three hill districts. The decision was announced in a notification signed by Cabinet Secretary Dr Nasimul Gani.

Under his mandate, State Minister Amit will ensure proper coordination and supervision of the activities of government agencies in the flood-affected areas. He will also be responsible for assessing flood-related damage in the affected areas, preparing rehabilitation plans and overseeing measures to ensure adequate relief supplies.
