The government distributed food assistance to flood-affected families in Khulna on Tuesday following heavy rainfall. Khulna Divisional Commissioner Md. Abdullah Harun attended the distribution program as the chief guest at the Jogipol Union Parishad premises in Dighalia upazila. During the event, he distributed 10 kilograms of rice each to 75 affected families from the Jogipol and Arongghata Unions. The Deputy Commissioner of Khulna, Hoore Jannat, presided over the program, which was organized by the Dighalia Upazila Administration. Later, the Deputy Commissioner visited the waterlogged Beleghata Paschimpara area under Senhati Union in Dighalia upazila and distributed food assistance to another 75 affected families. The relief materials are being distributed under the Prime Minister's directives to support disaster-hit families. The government has instructed the divisional administration to ensure that all affected people receive government assistance. Various social safety net programs are being implemented and efforts are underway to remove waterlogging as quickly as possible.
