Alleged Drug Trader Arrested with 100,000 Yaba Tablets in Cox's Bazar

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has arrested an alleged drug trader and seized 100,000 yaba tablets during a special anti-narcotics drive in Cox's Bazar.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has arrested an alleged drug trader and seized 100,000 yaba tablets during a special anti-narcotics drive in Cox's Bazar. Acting on a tip-off, a patrol team from Rejupara Border Outpost (BOP) conducted the operation on Saturday afternoon. The team raided a house in Baluchhara Patabari village under Ukhiya upazila and arrested Md Mizanur Rahman, 26, son of Hossain Ali, with 100,000 Myanmar-made yaba tablets.

Operation Details

A BGB press release, signed by Commanding Officer of Cox's Bazar Battalion (34 BGB) Lieutenant Colonel S M Khairul Alam, stated that the operation was carried out based on intelligence information. The patrol team from Rejupara BOP targeted a specific house in Baluchhara Patabari village, where the alleged drug trader was apprehended.

Arrest and Seizure

During the raid, Md Mizanur Rahman was arrested with 100,000 yaba tablets, which are believed to be manufactured in Myanmar. The tablets were found hidden in the house, and Rahman was immediately taken into custody.

Absconding Accomplices

The BGB release mentioned that four other accused - Hossain Ali, Tarek Hossain, Kamal Uddin alias Saitrish Kamal, and Monjur Khalifa - managed to evade arrest and are currently absconding. Efforts are underway to apprehend these individuals.

Legal Proceedings

Legal proceedings are being initiated against both the arrested individual and the absconding accomplices. The seized yaba tablets and the arrestee will be handed over to the concerned police station for further action.
