The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has undertaken a significant reshuffle by transferring 12 officers of different ranks to various units and divisions. This move is part of an effort to optimize operational efficiency and address specific needs across the city's law enforcement landscape. DMP Commissioner Mosleh Uddin Ahmad issued two separate transfer orders on August 6, redistributing responsibilities among experienced officers.
Among the key transfers, ADC Tania Sultana, previously in the Traffic Tejgaon Division, has been reassigned to the Public Relations (P&R) Division. ADC Ehsanul Kamran Tanvir, formerly with the Maintenance, Procurement and Workshop Division, has moved to the Traffic Tejgaon Division. These high-profile changes aim to bring fresh perspectives and expertise to critical areas of police operations.
Additionally, 10 Assistant Commissioners were transferred to different units. AC Anish Kirtaniya, previously in Patrol-Kotwali, has been posted to the Transport Division. Sudipta Kumar Biswas has been moved to the Equipment Department. Other notable reassignments include Ferdous Mehboob to Patrol-Kotwali, Mushfiqur Rahman Tushar to Chawkbazar Zone, and Tania Sultana to the Women Support and Investigation Division.
Sheikh Suraiya Urmi has been transferred to Public Order Management (POM) West, Md Mahfuzar Rahman to Bangabhaban Security-1, and Nusrat Yasmin Tisa to the Traffic Division of Pallabi Zone. Mohammad Saiful Islam has been posted to Patrol in the Cantonment area, while Md Sakilur Rahman has been moved to the Detective-Cyber and Special Crime Unit. These strategic shifts reflect the DMP's ongoing commitment to enhancing service delivery and ensuring a responsive policing model.
The recent transfers are expected to bring new energy and expertise to various divisions, potentially improving efficiency and effectiveness in addressing public safety and security concerns. The DMP's proactive measures underscore the importance of regular restructuring to meet the evolving challenges of urban policing in Bangladesh.
