29 Detained in Dhaka Police Operation Targeting Criminal Activities

Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested 29 people involved in various criminal activities during a special operation in Jatrabari, Bangshal, and Turag areas.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 29 individuals allegedly involved in various criminal activities during a special operation in Jatrabari, Bangshal, and Turag areas of the city on July 24, 2026. The arrests were made under regular criminal cases, outstanding arrest warrants, and other criminal activities.

Operation Details

Jatrabari Police Station arrested 16 people during a special drive in several crime-prone areas. The arrestees include Arman Sarkar Rony, Javed Hossain alias Javed Hossain Molla, Md Swapan, Md Abu Taher, Md Mintu, Md Arif, Md Ripon, Md Sohel Sheikh, Md Nayan, Helal alias Shahar, Md Mizan, Md Bijoy, Md Russell Islam, Md Isman Gani, Md Imon, and Md Sohel Mia.

Bangshal Police Station arrested seven individuals from various prone areas. The arrestees are Md Gias Uddin, Umme Salma, Mostakim Mahmud, Md Babu, Md Imamul Hossain, Md Rakib, and Md Ibrahim.

Turag Police Station conducted a similar special drive and arrested six people. The arrestees include Md Tuhin, Jihad Hossain, Md Hridoy Hossain, Sohan Ahmed Rohan, Mahim Islam, and Monirul Islam.

Ongoing Efforts

Legal action against the arrestees is currently underway. Police stated that such special drives will continue to maintain law and order and curb criminal activities in the areas.
