Director General (DG) of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui visited Cox's Bazar and adjacent border areas on July 17-18 to review border management, operational preparedness, and humanitarian assistance activities.

During his visit, Major General Siddiqui was briefed on the overall security situation along the Bangladesh-Myanmar border and reviewed ongoing border security operations, according to a press release of the Paramilitary Force.

The BGB chief exchanged views with officers and troops deployed in the region, praising their professionalism, dedication, and vigilance. He provided necessary directives to further enhance operational efficiency, maintain discipline, and strengthen border security.

As part of the government's humanitarian assistance program for flood-affected people in Cox's Bazar, BGB personnel distributed relief materials among flood victims in Chakaria Municipality, Lakshyarchar Union, and Kakara Union. A medical camp was also arranged to provide healthcare services to the affected people.

Speaking on the occasion, the BGB DG reaffirmed his commitment to safeguarding the country's borders and serving the people. He directed all BGB personnel to remain alert and perform their duties with professionalism and responsibility to effectively address any emerging challenges.
