Argentina and Brazil Flags Boost Sales in Dhaka During World Cup

Vendors from various districts have flocked to Dhaka to sell flags, hoping for extra income during the World Cup. Tamim Badsha, an eleventh-grade student from Habiganj, and his brother have been selling flags of different countries, with Argentina and Brazil flags being the most popular. They source flags in bulk from Chokbazar and sell them on the streets. Another vendor, Litton Mia from Gopalganj, also reports brisk business, especially for Argentina and Brazil flags. He and his friends come to Dhaka every December and during the World Cup to sell flags, supplementing their income with cosmetic sales the rest of the year.

Monir Hossain, a security guard at a bank ATM booth, also sells flags and related merchandise at TSC. He sends extra earnings home, highlighting the financial boost the World Cup brings to these vendors.
