A 23-year-old woman in Madhya Pradesh's Bhind district has been accused of murdering her husband with the help of her lover. The woman, identified as Rubi, allegedly staged the murder as a robbery to cover up the crime.

According to police, Rubi and her lover, Vishal Bimal (21), have been arrested. Another accomplice is still at large. The incident occurred in the Ater police station area of Bhind district.

District Police Superintendent (SP) Asit Yadav stated that Rubi initially claimed her husband, Nilesh Jatbh (27), was killed by unknown robbers while they were returning home on a motorcycle. However, her story raised suspicions, leading to a psychological interrogation that uncovered the truth.

Police revealed that Rubi had been in a relationship with Vishal for about seven years. They communicated regularly via WhatsApp calls and chats. Rubi reportedly saw her husband as an obstacle to her relationship with Vishal. As per the pre-planned scheme, Rubi dropped her bag on the road, asking her husband to stop the motorcycle. Vishal and his accomplice then shot Nilesh.

The arrested suspects had a 12-bore country-made pistol, empty cartridges, a numberless motorcycle, and a mobile phone seized from them. The police are still searching for another accomplice, Rajesh Kushwaha, who is on the run.

A similar incident occurred recently in Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh, where a woman hired a contract killer with the help of her lover to murder her husband. She also tried to pass it off as a robbery but later confessed during police interrogation.
