Tasmin Ahmed's exceptional first-ball wicket in a recent match has evoked memories of similar achievements by Saiful Islam and Syed Russel. This rare feat of taking a wicket on the first ball of an innings in One Day Internationals (ODIs) has only been accomplished by three Bangladeshi players.

Saiful Islam first achieved this in 1995 during the Pepsi Asia Cup in Sharjah, dismissing Asanka Gurusinha. Syed Russel replicated the feat in 2006 against Kenya in Nairobi. Tasmin's recent performance against Australia has now joined these historic moments.

While Bangladesh could not win those matches, the memory of these first-ball wickets remains significant. Additionally, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza holds the record for the best bowling figures in ODIs for Bangladesh, taking 6 wickets for 26 runs against Kenya in the same 2006 match where Russel achieved his feat.
