Despite his team Rajasthan Royals failing to reach the final, 15-year-old Surya Vanshi has emerged as the standout performer of the recent IPL, winning five individual awards.
Vanshi secured the Orange Cap for scoring the most runs (776), the Super Striker of the Season for his impressive strike rate (237.30 across 16 innings), and the Super Sixes of the Season for hitting the most sixes (72).
Additionally, he was awarded the Most Valuable Player (MVP) and the Best Emerging Player, making him the first player to win both awards in a single season.
Vanshi also broke Chris Gayle's record for the most sixes in a season (59) and became the first player since Gayle in 2011 to top both runs and strike rate in the same season (minimum 20 balls).
Although Rajasthan lost in the second qualifier to Gujarat, Vanshi's exceptional performance was recognized during the awards ceremony. When asked about being named MVP, Vanshi said, 'It feels good, but I also feel some pressure due to the interviews. This is a proud moment for me, and I will try to do well in the next season as well.'
