Bangladesh Test captain Nazmul Hossain has stated that external events, including administrative changes within the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), inevitably affect field cricket. In an interview with Prothom Alo's chief sports editor Utpal Shuvro, Nazmul emphasized that claims of being unaffected by such events are false. He noted that while players must adapt, minimizing external disruptions allows them to perform with greater clarity, confidence, and self-assurance.

Nazmul, who became the captain in all three formats at the start of 2024, has been credited with improving both the team's performance and the dressing room culture. He highlighted the importance of every individual's contribution, whether they are playing or supporting from the sidelines, in fostering a positive team environment.

The BCB has seen three presidents in the past year and a half, all former national team captains. The period has been marked by controversies and debates over the board's management and elections. In April, the Nazmul-led ad-hoc committee was formed after allegations of opacity led to the dissolution of the previous board under Aminul Islam.
