Killian Mbappe has stated that there is no element of revenge in his mindset should France face Argentina in the upcoming World Cup. Despite losing the 2022 World Cup final to Argentina, Mbappe emphasized that his focus is on performing at his best rather than seeking retribution. In an interview with French television network M6, Mbappe clarified, 'No, it's not about revenge. Even if we win the World Cup, we won't be three-time champions. The past cannot be changed. They deserved to win that match.'
Mbappe also highlighted that there is no additional motivation or animosity towards Argentina. He said, 'If we face them again, we will try to give our best. But we don't have any extra thoughts about them.' Despite scoring a hat-trick in the 2022 final, Mbappe's efforts were not enough to secure the trophy for France. However, he assured that personal glory is secondary to team success, stating, 'If I don't score a single goal but France wins the World Cup, I will be at the forefront of the celebration parade.'
France is placed in Group A for the upcoming tournament and will play their first match against Senegal on June 16. Their other group opponents are Norway and Iraq.
