Habibur Rahman has set a new record for the fastest century in 13 overs cricket, achieving the feat in just 45 balls during a Dhaka Premier League match against City Club at the Yulab ground. This surpasses his previous joint record of 49 balls, which he shared with Mosaddek Hossain. Habibur's innings included 13 sixes and 8 fours, culminating in a score of 130 runs off 58 balls before he was caught by Abdullah Al Mamun. This performance also marks the second-highest number of sixes in a List A match, with the record held by Soumya Sarkar with 19 sixes in 2019.

Habibur Rahman had previously set the record for the fastest fifty in List A cricket just six days ago. His aggressive batting continued in this match, though he started cautiously with only 6 runs off the first 9 balls. He reached his fifty in 26 balls and accelerated thereafter, scoring the next fifty in just 19 balls. This remarkable innings not only broke the List A record but also holds the fastest T20 century record among Bangladeshi players, achieved in 35 balls during the Rising Stars Asia Cup last year.
