The Lanka Premier League (LPL) is set to return after a two-season break, with five Bangladeshi cricketers—Sakib Al Hasan, Taskin Ahmed, Litton Das, Mehedi Hasan Miraz, and Hasan Mahmud—set to participate. The tournament will run from July 17 to August 8. A total of 32 Bangladeshi cricketers were in the draft list, but only these five have been selected to play.

Sakib Al Hasan and Taskin Ahmed will play for Jaffna Kings, a franchise they have represented before. Litton Das and Mehedi Hasan Miraz will join Galle Titans, while Hasan Mahmud will play for Colombo Caps for the first time in a T20 league abroad.

This year's LPL will feature the 'Impact Sub' rule, which has drawn criticism from cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar. Additionally, teams are required to include one Sri Lankan Under-23 player in their playing XI.
