Rakibul Islam Rakib, President of the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), visited the grave of Abu Sayeed, the first martyr of the July Uprising, in Babanpur village under Pirganj upazila of Rangpur. Accompanied by central and local JCD leaders, Rakib laid tribute at the grave and offered prayers for the departed soul.

Honoring the Martyr

After visiting the grave, Rakib paid a courtesy call on martyr Abu Sayeed's father Md Mokbul Hossain, mother Monwara Begum, and family members, inquiring about their well-being. This visit underscores the ongoing reverence for the martyrs of the July Uprising and the commitment of political leaders to honor their sacrifices.

Marking the Anniversary

Rakib's visit coincided with the second martyrdom anniversary of Abu Sayeed and July Martyrs' Day-2026. Earlier in the day, he attended a rally organized by the Begum Rokeya University unit of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, where he served as the chief guest. The rally aimed to commemorate the martyrs and reinforce the significance of their contributions to the nation's history.
