Members of the banned Bangladesh Awami Jubo League, Chittagong Metropolitan, held a protest march in the Agrabad commercial area of Chittagong on Friday morning. The marchers wore shrouds on their heads. The protest, under the banner of the Bangladesh Awami Jubo League, Chittagong Metropolitan, took place in front of the Bidyut Bhaban. The march and protest were captured in a 58-second video that circulated on social media.

The video shows the marchers moving from the Bandar area through Sheikh Mujib Road towards Agrabad Mor. They carried banners demanding justice for child deaths and rape, and protesting the increase in electricity and gas prices. Upon reaching Bidyut Bhaban, the protesters gathered and chanted slogans.

This is the third march by the banned Awami League affiliate in Chittagong this month. Earlier this week, members of the banned Chhatra League held a march in the Ananya residential area of Chittagong. On Monday morning, the banned Chhatra League held a sudden march in the GEC Mor area of the city. Subsequently, police arrested 70 members of the banned Awami League and its affiliated organizations from various police station areas in the city.

Assistant Commissioner (Public Relations) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police, Aminur Rashid, told Prothom Alo that the process of arresting those involved in the Agrabad area march is ongoing, based on the video evidence.
