Health officials in Bangladesh have recorded 534 new cases of dengue and three deaths in the past 24 hours. The surge in cases has raised concerns about the ongoing dengue outbreak in the country.

Regional Breakdown of New Cases

According to a statement from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 68 patients were hospitalized in Barishal division, 71 in Chattogram division, 131 in Dhaka division, 56 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), 65 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 45 in Khulna division, 37 in Mymensingh division, 30 in Rajshahi division, 26 in Rangpur division, and five in Sylhet division.

Since the start of the year, Bangladesh has witnessed 50 deaths and 14,690 dengue cases. In comparison, last year saw 413 deaths and 1,02,861 cases, while 2024 recorded 575 deaths and 1,01,214 cases.
