Chinese company Huarun Tex Co. Ltd. is set to invest $30 million to establish a textile manufacturing industry at the BEPZA Economic Zone (BEPZA EZ) in Mirsharai, Chattogram. The new facility aims to produce yarn and woven fabric, creating employment opportunities for 580 Bangladeshi nationals.
The factory will be established on 36,000 square metres of land at the economic zone. Once fully operational, the plant is expected to produce 24,000 tonnes of yarn and 20 million metres of grey woven fabric annually.
A land lease agreement between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and Huarun Tex Co. Ltd. was signed on July 16, 2026, at the BEPZA Complex in the capital. Md. Tanvir Hossain, Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA, and Bin Wang, Managing Director of Huarun Tex Co. Ltd., signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Mohammad Moazzem Hossain witnessed the signing ceremony and thanked Huarun Tex Co. Ltd. for choosing Bangladesh for its investment. He assured full support to help the company operate smoothly, highlighting BEPZA's commitment to providing a safe, modern, and business-friendly environment for investors.
The signing ceremony was attended by several senior BEPZA officials and representatives of Huarun Tex Co. Ltd. The project is expected to significantly boost the local economy by providing hundreds of new jobs and enhancing Bangladesh's textile manufacturing capabilities.
