State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salauddin Tuku announced today the preparation of an integrated list of entrepreneurs across the country's fisheries and livestock sectors. This initiative aims to ensure sustainable development in these sectors by increasing productivity, creating employment opportunities, and strengthening the nation's food security.

Tuku emphasized the importance of educated young people engaging in commercial and science-based farm management. He noted that such involvement would lead to more efficient use of resources, lower production costs, and higher profitability. Conversely, unplanned use of inputs increases costs and causes financial losses for farmers.

The state minister highlighted that divisional directors and district and upazila-level officials would collect information and address problems by preparing a national database of farmers and entrepreneurs associated with these sectors. This database will facilitate a series of exchange meetings with farmers to gather their opinions on problems, prospects, obstacles, and necessary measures, aiding in the formulation of realistic policies and action plans.

Tuku mentioned the government's commitment to the development of the fisheries and livestock sectors, underscoring Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's emphasis on increasing the number of entrepreneurs, creating employment opportunities, and boosting production. He urged officials to collect accurate information and prepare the list promptly with sincerity.

The meeting included Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock Additional Secretary Md Imam Uddin Kabir, Additional Secretary Syeda Nowara Jahan, Department of Fisheries Director General Dr Md Khaled Kanak, and Department of Livestock Services Director Dr Md Boyzar Rahman. Divisional directors of the Department of Fisheries and the Department of Livestock Services joined the meeting virtually.
