Chattogram Customs House has launched an electronic auction of 168 containers of unreleased and auctionable goods to reduce container congestion and improve operational efficiency at Chittagong Port. The month-long e-auction initiative aims to ensure the physical and financial security of goods, prevent wastage of state resources, and safeguard life and property through a transparent digital process.

Auction Details

The auction comprises two categories. Special e-Auction No. 08/2026 includes 93 containers grouped into 76 lots, featuring chemicals, bitumen, machinery parts, plastic sheets, chest freezers, pipes, fabrics, paper, and household goods. Meanwhile, e-Auction No. 07/2026 covers 75 containers in 55 lots, including capital machinery, fabrics, PVC flex banners, badminton rackets, elevators, air filters, craft liner paper, salt, and other items. These shipments will be auctioned without any reserved value.

Bidding Process

Interested bidders must register through the customs e-auction portal and submit bids online. A scanned copy of a security deposit equivalent to at least 10 percent of the proposed bid value must be uploaded during bid submission. Successful bidders will be required to comply with the Import Policy Order 2021-2024 to obtain release of the goods.
