Remittance inflow in Bangladesh rose by 23.4 percent to $2.17 billion during the first 22 days of July, according to the latest data from Bangladesh Bank. This marks a significant increase from the $1.759 billion received in the same period last year. On July 22 alone, inward remittances amounted to $75 million.
The sustained growth in remittance inflows is expected to support the country's foreign exchange reserves, strengthen external sector stability, and help meet the domestic demand for foreign currency. Remittance remains one of Bangladesh's key sources of foreign exchange earnings, alongside exports, making a significant contribution to the country's economy.
The increase in remittances reflects the continued strong flow of money sent home by expatriate Bangladeshis. This trend is crucial for the nation's economic stability and growth, providing essential financial support to millions of families and contributing to the overall economic health of the country.
