Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) and the South Asian Network on Economic Modeling (SANEM) have signed a research agreement to assess the quality of employment generated through PKSF's various development interventions. The agreement, signed at PKSF Bhaban-1, aims to evaluate the nature and quality of employment created through PKSF's programmes and formulate strategies for creating more productive and decent jobs.
Joint Research Initiative
This joint research initiative is part of a broader effort to generate deeper insights into employment outcomes under PKSF's programmes. The signing ceremony was attended by PKSF Managing Director Md Fazlul Kader, SANEM Chairman Dr Bazlul Haque Khondker, and senior officials from both organisations.
Building on Previous MoU
The research initiative follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between PKSF and SANEM on April 19, 2026. This MoU laid the groundwork for the current agreement, which seeks to build on previous collaborations to enhance employment quality.
Objectives and Expected Outcomes
Under the agreement, the study will evaluate the nature and quality of employment created through PKSF's various programmes. The findings are expected to help identify practical measures for promoting more relevant, productive, and decent employment opportunities in the future. This initiative is expected to support evidence-based policymaking and strengthen efforts to improve employment outcomes through PKSF's development programmes.
Significance for Bangladesh
This collaboration is significant for Bangladesh as it aims to address the quality of employment, a critical factor in sustainable development. By identifying and implementing measures to enhance job quality, the initiative could lead to more stable and productive employment opportunities, contributing to the overall economic growth of the country.
