Two construction workers were killed after being electrocuted and falling from the roof of an under-construction building in Trishal upazila of Mymensingh district on July 29, 2026. The incident occurred around 2:15 PM in the Daipara area under Ward No-5 of Trishal Municipality. The deceased were identified as Jisan, 18, son of Ratan of Tarail upazila in Kishoreganj district, and Sirajul Islam, 22, son of late Ibrahim, a resident of Birampur Bhatipara area of Trishal. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Trishal Police Station Md Mansur Ahmed confirmed the incident.

Incident Details

According to OC Md Mansur Ahmed, during the construction work, steel rods came into contact with an electric wire hanging beside the building. The two workers were electrocuted and fell from the third-floor roof, sustaining critical injuries. They were rushed to Trishal Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared them dead.

Legal Action

Police have initiated legal action in connection with the incident. The exact circumstances leading to the electrocution are under investigation. Authorities are looking into safety measures and compliance with construction regulations at the site.
