Two women were arrested in Rangpur with five kilograms of ganja. The Detective Branch (DB) of Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) apprehended Jaba Begum, 40, and Nazma Begum, 41, at Shapla Chattar intersection on Tuesday night. The women, hailing from Sherpur upazila and Shibganj upazila of Bogura district respectively, were found in possession of the illicit substance. Necessary legal action has been initiated following their arrest. RpMP Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Mabud emphasized a zero-tolerance policy towards drugs, vowing to strengthen intelligence and operations against drug dealers. The police remain committed to creating a drug-free and safe Rangpur metropolis.

Commissioner Mabud highlighted the importance of public cooperation in the fight against drugs. He stated, 'Our stance against drugs is zero tolerance. Intelligence surveillance and special operations have been further strengthened against drug dealers, suppliers, and patrons.'
