On August 1, 2026, Rajshahi Shishu Academy hosted a tree plantation program, discussion meeting, prize distribution, and cultural event. The initiative was taken by Bangladesh Shishu Academy in collaboration with the Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC). RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton, present as the chief guest, emphasized the importance of children's role in the nation's future.
Afforestation Initiative
Mahfuzur Rahman highlighted that the event aimed to nurture children's love for trees and promote afforestation. He praised Shishu Academy for its efforts in children's development and pledged continued support for Rajshahi Shishu Academy. The program aligns with the Prime Minister's initiative to plant 25 crore trees in five years, with a local target of planting two and a half lakh trees in Rajshahi.
Prize Distribution and Cultural Program
Winning students from various competitions received prizes, and Mahfuzur Rahman planted trees on the Shishu Academy premises. The event was presided over by District Children's Affairs Officer Manjurul Qadir, with notable attendees including music guru Sri Manjushree Roy and cultural personality Selim Reza.
Public Participation and Environmental Awareness
The RCC Administrator encouraged everyone to plant at least one tree and care for it, while also urging against littering in drains. The event was attended by students, parents, teachers, Shishu Academy officers, and other distinguished guests.
