A mobile court in Rajshahi has sentenced two individuals to 25 days' simple imprisonment following their arrest in an anti-drug operation.

A mobile court in Rajshahi has sentenced two individuals to 25 days' simple imprisonment following their arrest in an anti-drug operation. The convicted persons, Tutul, 34, and Rohid, 25, both residents of Shekherchak Bihari Bagan area under Boalia Police Station in Rajshahi Metropolitan, were arrested for violating Section 36(5) of the Narcotics Control Act, 2018. They were produced before the mobile court, which is conducted by an Executive Magistrate of the Deputy Commissioner's Office.

Operation and Arrest Details

The arrests were made during an anti-drug operation conducted by Boalia Police on Monday. The operation targeted individuals suspected of involvement in drug-related activities. The two individuals were apprehended and subsequently charged under the Narcotics Control Act.

Ongoing Anti-Drug Efforts

Rajshahi Metropolitan Police has emphasized that regular anti-drug operations are being conducted across the metropolis to curb drug-related crimes and maintain law and order. These operations are part of a broader effort to address the growing concern of drug abuse and trafficking in the region. The police have assured the public that such operations will continue to ensure a safer environment.
