Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecast rain in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing from 9am. According to a Met office bulletin issued this morning, light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind are likely to occur at many places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, and Mymensingh divisions. Besides, moderately heavy falls may occur at places over the country.

Day and night temperatures may rise slightly over the country. The highest temperature on Friday was recorded at 35.7 degrees Celsius in Dimla, while today's minimum temperature was 23.2 degrees Celsius in Narayanganj.

In the last 24 hours (till 6am today), the highest rainfall of 109 millimetres was recorded in Satkhira. The sun sets at 6:45pm today and rises at 5:25am tomorrow in Dhaka.

Rainfall is a common occurrence during this time of year in Bangladesh, often bringing relief from the summer heat but also posing challenges for daily activities and transportation. The BMD's forecast serves as an important alert for residents to prepare for potential disruptions.
